Mr. Robbins was admitted to practice law in 1981, and has been specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury law continuously since that time. The first years of his career were spent with John J. Tullman, a pioneer of Medical Malpractice Litigation in New York (1976-1982). He was next affiliated with the firm Gair, Gair & Conason (1982–1984) before becoming associated with Julien & Schlesinger, where he practiced for 28 years (1984-2012).

Mr. Robbins has experience in all phases of litigation, from intake through trial and appeal. He has successfully litigated and tried actions ranging from automobile accident cases, to complex medical malpractice and product liability cases, not just in the greater New York City area, but also in a dozen other counties within the State of New York, as well as in a number of substantial cases in New Jersey, where he was given special permission to appear by the Superior Court of that State.

He is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the American Association for Justice. He has been recognized by others in his profession as an outstanding attorney, having received Martindale-Hubbel peer review rating AV®Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5., the highest rating possible for ethical standards and legal ability.
